Noblewoman from Belgium-Magdalena Gramb (1642) introduced new belgian lace patterns, and established new method of lace making (using of special pillow-which is called herdule). Bobbin lace from Vamberk has changed during the centuries, but the original technology was kept and the possibilities of utilization in clothing and apartment culture icreased. Permanent cooperation with renowned artist led to the golden medal at the World exposition EXPO Brusel 1958 and Montreal 1967 and many other awards later. The bobbin lace handicraft in Vamberk is still alive and adaptable to contemporary customer requests. Vamberk's lace working comes out of folk tradition, is still developing and contributes to the balance between tradition and modern civilization.
